Description

In this four-day master class, ISP graduates will have the opportunity to learn directly from Dr. Raja Selvam, PhD, the developer of the Integral Somatic Psychology approach, the refinements he continues to make to the theory and practice of ISP, observe him demonstrate their effectiveness, and practice them daily with colleagues from different countries. You will at the same time learn more about the deepest truths about yourself, the world, and the relationship between you and the world.

Specifically, we will learn how to

  • access and work with emotional states from childhood through regression, to heal the wounds they come from and to resolve the transference reactions and symptoms they habitually cause;
  • work with complex emotional states that have multiple layers of meaning and traumatization;
  • work more deeply and efficiently with the practice of embodying emotions only through the elements of individual subtle body with further understanding of their resources;
  • go about deepening your understanding and realization of yourself as the absolute or unchanging collective body of pure awareness that remains unaffected by any and all of your experiences.

International growth and development of ISP

Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) has come a long way in a relatively short time. It has been taught in twenty countries, with students from many more nations on six continents. Its first book "The Practice of Embodying Emotions: A Guide for Improving Cognitive, Emotional, and Behavioral Outcomes" is being published in 13 languages. Local trainers are beginning to teach ISP in their countries. The theory and practice of ISP is undergoing continuous development and refinement, as one would expect given the comprehensive model of the psyche and body in ISP.

Holistic approach: working with all levels of the body

One aspect that sets ISP apart from other somatic psychology modalities is that it takes into account and works with all levels of a person’s body (the gross and subtle bodies at the individual level, the changing collective body of the universe, and its paradoxical basis of the unchanging collective body of pure awareness) that contribute and regulate all of our experiences. In contrast to ISP, other somatic psychology modalities compromise their outcomes by working with just one of four bodies, dealing with only one-fourth of the deck.

Central clinical strategy: Embodiment of emotions

Another aspect that distinguishes ISP from other modalities is that its core clinical strategy of the practice of embodying emotions, backed by latest findings in neuroscience, offers all therapy modalities including body psychotherapies a complementary body-based method for improving physical, energetic, cognitive, emotional, relational, and even spiritual outcomes.
